What if every failure was actually a step toward something bigger, something game-changing? That’s my story. My name is Luke, and I’m not just a software developer with over 20 years of experience—I’m someone who has faced the heartbreak of financial losses, the frustration of scams, and the guilt of lost time with loved ones. But those struggles led me to create KAPSEL, a cryptocurrency that’s more than just a coin—it’s a movement for fairness, transparency, and community.
Hooked on the Crypto Dream
It all started with Dogecoin. Like many, I was drawn in by the excitement and the possibility of being part of something big. I invested heavily and was up about $50k. When Elon Musk went on Saturday Night Live, I was convinced we were going to the moon. Instead, the coin tanked—and I tanked with it. Even today, I still hold Dogecoin, hoping for a comeback, because as they say, “You only lose when you sell.”
The SafeMoon Rollercoaster
That didn’t stop me. Next came SafeMoon, where a $4,000 investment skyrocketed to $12,000 in hours. I was ecstatic, but greed kept me from selling, and I lost it all.
The AMC Obsession
Frustrated but determined, I turned to stocks. I joined the AMC and GameStop craze and for a brief moment, I thought I’d made it. My portfolio hit $120,000, but within hours, it was all gone again. These losses weren’t just financial—they consumed my time and energy, taking me away from my family and friends. Crypto and stocks had become an obsession, and it was draining me. That’s when I decided to take a step back.
Taking a Break
The constant cycle of hope and heartbreak forced me to take a two-year break. During that time, my wife and I had a baby, and my priorities shifted. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t done with crypto. The love for innovation was still there, waiting for the right moment.
The Meme Coin Era and a Harsh Lesson
Then, in 2024, I started hearing more about meme coins. The topic was everywhere, and I couldn’t help but dive back in. But this time, I wanted to do it differently. I spent months researching and learning. I started buying meme coins again, but the results were devastating. I’d invest money, and in minutes, it would vanish. I couldn’t figure out why until I learned about something called a rug pull. After researching, I realized what was happening. A rug pull is when developers remove all liquidity from a coin, leaving everyone else with nothing. It was devastating to see this happen over and over.
From Sleepless Nights to a New Vision
After losing money to rug pulls, and determined to find a better way, I decided to learn everything I could about blockchain development. That’s when I discovered the Solana blockchain—a fast, scalable platform that inspired me to explore the technical side of crypto.
With a newborn baby and my wife needing rest, the only time I had to study was late at night. For months, I stayed awake until the early hours, diving into Solana’s documentation, learning about smart contracts, and figuring out how to create a secure and transparent coin. It wasn’t easy, but every late-night session brought me closer to realizing my goal.
Finally, after countless nights of research and learning, I felt ready. That’s when I decided to create my own coin using the Moonshot platform—one that would reflect everything I had learned and everything I wanted the crypto world to be.
Why I Created KAPSEL
Imagine you’re playing a game where the rules keep changing, and the people running it can take away your prizes whenever they want. Sounds unfair, right? After losing time, money, and trust, I started asking myself: Why can’t I create a coin that’s different? A coin that’s transparent and honest. A coin that gives everyone—including myself—a fair chance. And that’s how KAPSEL was born.
